Please note: The weatherstripping we use for our FRAMELESS shower enclosures may not work on enclosures installed by other companies. Our enclosures are custom designed, engineered, and fabricated at our facility, with the specific components factored into the design. Using weatherstripping incorrect weatherstripping may result in damage to hinges, glass, or cause the door to operate in an unintended manner. Other companies may use different styles and profiles, so it is important to use the correct specifications.
Mirage utilizes the following CRL manufactured components in our frameless shower enclosures. (please click image to see full size)

Weather stripping has been installed around the enclosure’s operating parts to keep water in the shower area. Unlike traditional framed doors, the frameless European-style door has minimal metal and utilizes plastic strips to reduce water overspray. These strips need replacement eventually, and the installation warranty lasts for 30 days from the original installation. After the warranty period, replacements are subject to a service charge, but clients can also purchase and install the strips themselves . These strips are attached to the glass edge using 3M-manufactured adhesive, which requires a cure time of 72 hours. Failure to wait for the cure time may cause the strips to fall off prematurely.
The 30-day adhesive warranty is supplied by 3M, the manufacturer of the glass to plastic adhesive. The weather strip and adhesive are components of the enclosure, produced by a 3rd party. Therefore, Mirage Mirror and Glass is unable to extend the warranty beyond the manufacturer’s coverage. We anticipate that new products will be introduced in the future, allowing us to offer warranties that exceed 30 days.
Factors that can cause weather stripping to come loose:
steam enclosures or enclosures where heat is excessive or water is running for an extended period of time
how often shower enclosure is used
improper cleaning (use of aggressive cleaning tools or cleaning agents)
Replacement strips are sold at our office location on weekdays. Please remember to provide the name on your original invoice so we can access your file. If possible, include a sample piece of your weatherstripping. For sanitary reasons, we cannot accept returns for shower door weather stripping. Make sure Mirage handled your original installation, or contact our office for verification.
